Nicely atmospheric can smell the wet raincoats and visualize men in hats. That's the reason we all took to cars to go every where and men stopped wearing hats.

I'm not sure how this is a departure from my usual style.  It may be a departure from what I post here but not so much on my other site which has been around since 2006. I do a lot of photography in Hoboken and Jersey City and this was from Hoboken. There was no special editing done other than perhaps my normal curves for contrast.

This was shot on September 11, 2009 in Hoboken's Lackawanna Station.  I met up with a group of photog friends from PA to take them to see the 9-11 tribute in lights from Liberty State Park in Jersey City but it was extremely foggy and raining hard.  So Mark and I took them for a quick car tour of the Jersey City and Hoboken waterfronts.  We were hoping that in the meantime the ceiling would lift enough to get a clear shot of the Tribute from Liberty State Park in Jersey City which is directly across from Lower Manhattan where the 9-11 attacks took place.  One stop we made, primarily to use the restrooms, was Lackawanna station in Hoboken.  We took a quick walk along the wet platform where I took this, after looking around the beautiful old station.  Fortunately the fog did start to lift by the time we made it back to the park which yielded this shot among others:
