An outstanding shot, very clear and colourful you have captured an amaizing shot. Im the same as Chris i have the same camera and wonder are you in a hide to get this close?
Thank you Chris and Donald for your very kind comments. This was taken at Savill Gardens near Windsor last weekend, the Pheasant was just scratching around between the bushes. All I needed to do was to keep very quiet and click.
Thank you for your kind comments. It was a difficult shot to take without moving to much, unfortunately I missed his feet because I was zoomed in to much and trying to catch the wonderful colours. Thanks Jane for trying to edit to make it lighter.
I thought of you this morning Wendy when I looked out of the bedroom window and saw a c0ck pheasant and a hen on the road, he was strutting his stuff making exgerated high stepping, and clucking noises, he looked magnificent, arn't they gorgeous looking birds. This miles better than the ones I took this morning,This is a super shot. Just got round to commenting this morning.

A lovey shot. I photographed a few of these earlier this week. By the way he's puffed up there must be a female nearby! They are so flamboyant compared with the female of the species.

What a cracker love the colours on these birds, shame they use them for sport, big like from me, regards Leon.

He has really beautiful plumage but the underside seems very dark, have you tried to lightening him up a bit?
Edit, I just tried, but the background is so bright that it will not lighten without ruining the shot, worth a try though!
